Carpenter bee in his newly constructed home….

Carpenter bees channelled out facia boards. They also lay down pollen paddies, then lay the egg (which becomes larvae) and then seal the chamber with wood fibres they have created from chewing the facia board.

Notice the pollen paddies, the larvae and the so ever clever seals the bees put in place. So it is pollen, eggs and seals, pollen eggs and seal-this is their pattern to create new borns for propagating their species.

to safely remove Carpenter bees the wood needs to be removed

Carpenter have extremely tough/strong mandibles that can virtually chew through the hardest materials. Aside from metal the wood needs to be removed. Even spraying them do not work because the new born/s will emerge at a  later date when chemicals are neutralized.
